Tier Talks

TIER stands for Talks that Inspire, Educate and Resonate. Our alumni and faculty are the University’s greatest assets. This speaker series – with events in person and online – leverages the intellectual prowess of our alumni and faculty so you can deepen your understanding of topics that are front of mind in today's world.

At Homecoming 2025, we will have the program "Changing Minds ÂÌñÉç Stress: Stress Mindset, Resilience and Well-Being." It will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center (C4) Multipurpose Room. Our featured speaker will be Jennifer Wegmann '94, MA '01, PhD '18, lecturer of health and wellness studies and faculty-in-residence of Dickinson Community.

This program will delve into the transformative power of altering our perceptions of stress. In a world where stress is often seen as the villain, this presentation seeks to challenge the traditional narrative of stress as purely negative. This presentation will explore the science behind stress mindset, offering practical strategies to reframe stress as a catalyst for growth and productivity. Discover the psychology behind resilience and learn how to harness it as a tool for personal empowerment. Through an interactive discussion and evidence-based insights, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how mindset shapes our response to stress. They'll leave with actionable techniques to reveal resilience, optimize well-being and thrive in the face of challenges. Register now for this event at Homecoming 2025.
